I’ve been neglecting a con report for Anime Central, but to make an elaborated experience short, I’ll try to go briefly through it.
Arrived to the hotel area in Nashville, TN around 9-10PM. Settle down a bit and slept right after because the road trip from Illinois to Tennessee was long and even though I slept during the car ride, I barely slept days before!
We missed registration and I don’t think there was con registration so Will and I wandered around the con badge-less, hanging around the lobby area mostly. But here’s a bit of how Detour weekend went!
After getting off work around 3pm, Will and I shopped around for last minute materials to work on his Ichigo cosplay. I stayed up til 3-4am working on Will’s outfit and he was working on his sword
Saturday: Eventually finished last minute cosplay touches and left to Detour at around 6-7pm as Ichigo’s new shikai and vice-captain Rukia from Bleach. Met up with friends and lots of drunk people! We were asked to be in a mini cosplay film project. I was so awkward, because I never usually get asked to be in cosplay videos, but it was fun and that Zack cosplayer was a nice guy to talk with. Here’s how the video went. I’m around 2:07! YT link
Later we went to eat out at TGI Fridays where Will and I reminiscence on our first awkward date, ahaha! Then back in the lobby, after bits of truth and dare and more hanging out with friends, I eventually became too tired and we said our goodbyes. More first date reminiscing and we eventually left the con area.
Sunday: We were at Detour for only a short period. Will went as casual Ichigo during the Fullbring arc and I debuted Hatsune Miku’s Alice Human Sacrifice outfit. We left earlier to the con in hopes to meet some friends before they leave, but we were too late! Later on two of my sisters came and brought my little niece along! She was so cute but she really didn’t experience the full feeling of Detour since they arrived late Sunday. She had a fun time in the short amount though!
It was fun even though we weren’t around that long at Anime Detour. It was definitely the friends and people there—-fun times. And like usual, we got comments like “You two make such a good Ichigo and Rukia!” Or “I don’t even like Bleach, but you two look just like them!”
Hopefully next Anime Detour I’ll do better and register on time
